Mountain Cleanup Project

Mountain Cleanup Project

We are thrilled to share that a few weeks ago, we finally launched one of our long-awaited community initiatives—cleaning up the mountains from plastic and trash! This project has been something we’ve wanted to start for a while, and it’s exciting to see it come to life.

Mountain Cleanup Project

Even though we only spent about an hour collecting trash, we were shocked by how much we managed to collect—more than 25 large bags of plastic and waste that had been carelessly thrown into nature. Despite the challenge, it was an incredibly rewarding experience, and we had a great time working alongside the children and the community.

As we’ve traveled through remote communities in Northern Thailand, we’ve often noticed the growing issue of waste in nature. The introduction of new products and materials, often without proper garbage disposal systems or waste awareness, has led to a rise in trash being discarded in the mountains. In one of the areas where we work closely with local communities to produce our Forest Friendly Tea, we partnered with the local school to sponsor a day of learning about waste management. The children not only got a chance to understand the importance of keeping their environment clean but also participated in a hands-on activity to clean up the forest area just outside the school.

Our Forest Friendly Tea concept is built on the idea of paying farmers more for tea grown in harmony with nature than they would earn from clearing the forests for monoculture crops. But we believe our impact should go beyond just sustainable farming practices. We’re passionate about improving the areas where we work, and this cleanup project is just one way we can make a positive difference. We’re excited to see where this initiative will go and look forward to continuing to support the environment and the communities we work with through tea.

We want to create meaningful change together with the communities we work with
